Revenge of the Sith Teaser Poster Reaction

By KJ

November 03 , 2004

On the eve of the Hyperspace: The Official Fan Club release of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith’s teaser trailer, I thought I’d write my reaction to the new teaser poster, which debuted a couple of days ago.

The Episode III teaser poster depicts a determined looking Anakin armed with a red lightsaber on the far right side of the page. His cape - which is in the center of the poster and takes up most of the space - trails behind him, forming the ominous shape of Darth Vader’s helmet. If you’re a visual person like me, now might be the time refer to this article on the official site for an actual picture of the Episode III teaser poster. Also, for a little perspective, I’d highly recommend glancing at the teaser posters for Episodes I and II, which are posted near the bottom of the article as well.

I instantly fell in love with the Episode I and II teaser posters. I have to be honest, though, my expectations were not met with the Episode III teaser poster. I’m really trying to figure out why this poster just missed the mark for me. One possibility is that I’ve just had my hopes up so high that it would be nearly impossible for anything to exceed or even meet my expectations.

Case in point, I’ll let you in on a little secret: I didn’t like Attack of the Clones the first time I saw the film. Why? I’m pretty sure the reason why I didn’t initially like the Episode II was because I speculated too much and got myself too hyped up about the film. So maybe all I need to do is give the poster a little time to sink in, time for it to grow on me, like Attack of the Clones did. Maybe, maybe not.

And heck, this is just the poster! The teaser trailer, which will be released for Hyperspace members tomorrow, has a lot more riding on it than any print ad could.
