The Force Prince Rap

By KJ

If you haven’t already guessed it, this rap is a play on words of the popular 1990s sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, the television show that launched Will Smith’s acting career. This rap matches up (for the most part) with the show’s original lyrics, written by Will Smith. If you'd like to know any additional information about the original show or Will Smith, feel free to look them up on Google.

Just to be clear, I don’t own the lyrics to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, I just thought it’d be fun to write my own Star Wars version of the theme song. Enjoy!

On...planet Tatooine born and raised,
Tendin' Watto's shop is how I spent lots of my days.
Working hard, no laxing, maxin' out for that foo'
but building me a droid and a podracer too

When a couple of strangers were in trouble good
I said I'd help 'em out any way I could
I entered one little race and my mom got scared
and warned, "Ya better come back safe. Not one singed hair!"

I pulled up to the finish and when it came near
Seby tangled with me, but then I got in the clear
If any thing I could say his stunned look was rare
but I thought now forget it, it's no use to stare

So I won the race in a quick twist of fate
I yelled to my mama, "Hey, wasn't I great?"
I earned my own freedom, not mom's - no fair
Still I vowed I'd return and swore she'd be in my prayers.
